iTunes Movie of the Week (UK) - Cloverfield £4.99

Each week iTunes offers a cheap ‘Movie of the Week’ as well as a ‘TV series of the Week’. This is not usually something exclusive to iTunes as a quick search will usually the reveal the same movie available on the Google Play store and Amazon for a similar price. However, as all digital movie media is invariably protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) it usually comes down to what platform you are more comfortable accessing your purchased content on. With Amazon, it requires their Fire TV or Fire Stick and for Apple, it’s the Apple TV. For me, it’s usually the Apple TV that makes the more logical choice but your mileage may vary.

This week you can pick up Cloverfield for just £4.99.

This movie caused quite a stir when it was originally released and is a cross between a found footage and monster movie. Although shot on a fairly small budget it still offers a highly entertaining, and sometimes terrifying, experience. A worthy addition to your digital library. 

Synopsis: Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.
