Elobeth Soft Sports Silicone Bracelet Strap Review

I love my Apple Watch. I don't care what the detractors say, I have found a place for it in my everyday life. Apart from a short period when it needed to be sent away for a slight warranty repair, my Apple Watch only comes off my wrist when it needs a charge, or when I need a shower (I'm still uneasy mixing technology and water, despite Tim Cook's assurances).

The only downside to the Apple Watch in my view is the ridiculous price of the official Apple straps, or "bands" as Apple calls them. No matter how much Sir Jony Ive explains that they're crafted by dedicated artisans locked away in their workshops fashioning leather and metal masterpieces, or designed by world-leading Apple material scientists and manufactured in state-of-the-art bespoke robotic factories, the end result is that they're still way out of my price range.

Fortunately there are a multitude of alternative third-party bands available that do not excessively challenge one's bank account.

The latest band I've added to my collection is  the Elobeth Soft Sports Silicone Bracelet Strap. It's obviously styled after the recently released Nike Apple Watch bands and appears to match the very same colour options. I opted for the rather striking black/volt version and have pretty much been wearing it every day since.

The rubber/silicone material is very soft and pliant, resulting in a very light and comfortable fit. The strap stretches slightly as you put it on so those with larger wrists should have no issues. Just like the standard Sports band that comes with the Apple Sport Watch it fastens by pushing a tiny metal nub on one side into a hole on the other side, and then the rest of the strap is tucked through and under for a very neat and secure result.  Attaching and removing the band is quick and simple and it just slides in and out smoothly each time. This is a great testimonial to Apple's forward thinking and innovation in their design of the strap release mechanism.  As the Nike-style strap is lined with holes I've not noticed any issues with my wrist sweating, at least no more than with the normal sports strap.

The bright volt colours do add a dash to vibrancy and noticeability to the watch and produce a very distinct look. Obviously taste is a very personal thing but I do like this styling, and it's made all the sweeter by knowing that it didn't cost very much at all.

If you are looking to expand your Apple Watch strap collection to add a colourful and sporty alternative, then the Elobeth Soft Sports Silicone Bracelet Strap is a great option that won't break the bank as you break those mileage records. Happy running!
